Toronto Triumph Car Club

Toronto Triumph Club: Abstract

The Toronto Triumph Club Inc. was founded in October, 1982. We started with a handful of Triumph enthusiasts and have grown to become  one of the largest British sports car clubs in Canada. Most of our members are in Ontario, but we have others across Canada and the USA, in fact over 70% of our membership is outside the GTA.

We are dedicated to all Triumph motor cars and our members own anything and everything, from a 1947 Triumph 1800 Roadster to a 1982 TR8. Although you don't need to own a Triumph to join, models include TR2, TR3, TR3A, TR3B, TR4, TR4A, TR5, TR6, TR7, TR8, Spitfire, GT6, GT6+, Stag, Bond, Vitesse and Herald.

PURPOSE

The motto of the club is "All to Preserve & Drive the Triumph" and we certainly do both. we also enjoy socializing, friendship and supporting each other with advice. Everything from a full body off restoration to changing a fuse can be achieved with help from your fellow members.

Experts are always available and six  Marque Coordinators are on-hand to help members with similar Triumph models: TR2/3/3A/3B, TR4/4A/250, TR6, TR7/8, Spitfire/GT6 and Stag.

DRIVING YOUR TRIUMPH

We love to drive our cars and our events schedule includes many opportunities to enjoy them to the full. Our monthly meetings often include a driving element and major events offer longer trips and overnight stays.

MAJOR EVENTS

Each May we hold the Spring Fling weekend in various Ontario locations. Organization for this alternates each year between our club and the MG Car Club of Toronto, encouraging friendships outside of the Triumph fraternity.

Our own Canadian Classic is held every year in late July . Celebrating its 25th Anniversary, this year we will gather at Deerhurst Resort in Huntsville. Previous locations include Port Hope/Mosport, Newmarket,  Niagara Falls, Picton, Collingwood, Kingston, Peterborough, Ottawa, Barrie, Burlington, Sarnia, and Belleville. The event includes scenic drives, quizzes, a concours and participants choice car show & shine, awards banquet and of course,  lots of fun!

On the third Sunday in September we host our British Car Day© in Bronte Creek Provincial Park, Oakville. It is the largest all-British one day car event in North America. All British marques are represented from Austin to Wolesley, with over 1100 vehicles registering in 2009.

MONTHLY MEETINGS

The club has regularly scheduled meetings, usually on the third Tuesday of the month starting at 7:00PM. The primary location is currently the Canadian Air & Space Museum in Downsview, but the location varies throughout the year as we visit various venues for technical seminars and social nights. We also encourage spouses to attend our social functions and regularly hold meetings which have food provided and other attractions.Watch for updates on our website.
